About Us

Inspired by our past. Committed to our future.

What began as The Breakfast Club, in 1976, was incorporated as The Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce on December 19, 1989. The Chamber is a 200+ member staffed organization, with a Board of Directors dedicated to providing business development tools and services as advocates to local businesses and business people.

Since the founding in 1976, the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce has served as the foundation of a business network of local merchants and citizens.  The organization understands the value of social networking not only in helping area businesses and residents succeed but also in strengthening the community.  It serves as an information center to answers questions concerning all facets of Smithville - from businesses, products, services, and retail. In addition, potential new residents stop by to ask questions about the community, tourists stop in for visitors information, along with business owners popping in for numerous activities.

The Chamber door is always open to people who want to see Smithville succeed.  Our goal is always the same - to bring together businesses, professionals, and citizens to use their talents and ideas to encourage a balanced successful community in which to live, work and play.
