BENEFITS OF CHAMBER MEMBERSHIP

Discover all we have to offer and take advantage of our many services.

 

Chamber Directory – The directory is produced annually.  In the front half, your business can be listed under two different categories, while you will be listed alphabetically in the back section of the directory.  This advertising opportunity is given to all new residents through the Welcome Program, is used at marketing events, and is sent out in all relocation and vacation packets.

 

Chamber Luncheon – The Chamber Board, staff and all 200+ members are invited to our monthly luncheon that is held the second Wednesday of every month.  The meal is furnished and followed by an entertaining program.  The luncheon also serves as a great networking tool as well as a marketing opportunity.  At the end of each luncheon, we ask for upcoming activities and comments from members.  This is a great time to share upcoming events and activities that your organization has on their agenda.

 

Bulk Mailing Use the Chamber’s Bulk Mail Permit for substantial savings on mailings of 200 pieces or more. 

 

Shredding Service With your Chamber membership, you have access to the Chamber shredding service.  Bring documents you need shredded, to the Chamber office on Tues or Thurs from 9am-12pm or by appointment, and place your documents in our shredding container.  Chamber members are allowed one box per month.

 

Member Newsletter – The Chamber’s monthly newsletter is mailed to all members the week prior to the membership meeting.  It’s a great way to stay updated on Chamber board decisions, upcoming meetings and member events, and other member opportunities.  Use the member to member section, as a way to share your news or sales with other chamber members, at no cost to you. Submit your ad the first week of each month, to be sure it makes it into that months edition.

 

Marketing Opportunities –   The Chamber Executive Director attends several marketing events throughout the year to help promote our community and our chamber members.  We provide a business Expo’s right here in Smithville during Hot Summer Nights in August, where members can reserve a booth a no cost to them to promote their own business/organization to the community. 

 

Sponsor a Chamber Luncheon – As a sponsor or co-sponsor for one of the monthly luncheons, you can make a 20 minute presentation highlighting your business.  Your audience may not need your services that day, but they may know someone who does and refer you, or they may need you in the future and remember your program.

 

Part-time Staff – The Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce has a part-time staff member available to advocate your business from the Chamber’s office at 105 W. Main Street in downtown Smithville.  Our office hours are 9:00am-1:00pm.

 

Welcome Program – The Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors a program in which new residents are provided a "welcome bucket" by our Outreach Specialist.  During visits, information is shared for those participating businesses to Smithville's newest residents.

 

Chamber Functions & Networking Opportunities – Attend monthly luncheons and business-sponsored “After Hours”.  Your paid membership allows you to join over 200 businesses for opportunities for networking, business advice, and sharing information on products and services. 

Ribbon Cuttings – Remember to include the Chamber in your groundbreaking, grand opening, or expansion celebrations.  We bring the Board Members, the big scissors and ribbon, and make arrangements for the local press to be there.  

Holiday Events- The Chamber holds a number of community events throughout the year meant to give back to the community and provide festive experiences.  Look for information on our Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Candy Land Christmas, Community Awards Dinner, and Backyard BBQ Bash.
